Serving the district for 99 years, Frank Allis is located on Madison's far east side and proudly educates the diverse community within our attendance area.  Frank Allis is committed to developing and sustaining a school environment which encourages individuality and responsibility, celebrates diversity, fosters a desire to learn, and supports every community member to discover and strengthen their skills, talents, and abilities so that each is prepared to be a productive participant in our changing global society.

The diverse staff at Frank Allis is dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child.  Academic skills are taught using a variety of learning modalities.  Literacy instruction occurs a minimum of 90 minutes a day.  Math instruction occurs a minimum of 60 minutes a day.  Technology is woven into everyday instruction in a variety of ways.  We believe students can access learning through a variety of ways, including technology.  Physical Education instruction occurs throughout the week in three 30-minute classes and emphasizes the development of specific physical skills in an environment that promotes a balance of non-competitive activities and competition that promotes positive participation and sportsmanship.  Instruction in the Fine Arts includes Music Classes two times a week for 30 minutes each class period and Art Class for one hour each week.  The emphasis of instruction is on exposure to the various genres, forms, history, and culture.  Performance and exhibition is a strong aspect of our Fine Arts program.  Students receive instruction in computers, exposure to various programs, and practice with applications that promote learning on a weekly basis.  Students have access to the Library Media Center (LMC) on a weekly basis for book check out, research, and other activities that support learning.  The social and emotional needs of our learners are met through practicing the philosophy of restitution, teaching students school behavior and expectations through "Cool Tools," allowing students to complete Fix-it Plans for misbehavior, and practicing the philosophy that "Every Day Is A New Day."  At Frank Allis, our motto is:  I am A Learner:  I am Respectful, I am Responsible, I am Safe, I am Kind.

Parents and families are an important part of our school community.  It is through a proactive partnership between families and school that students succeed.  Parents have opportunities to be involved through supporting their child's learning at home, coming to school for evening events, volunteering in the school, and accessing their child's teachers via email, telephone, or face-to-face conferences.

It is our goal to have a family-centered event at Frank Allis every month.  We believe that family events at school strengthen the bond of learning.

Parents and volunteers are encouraged to get involved at Frank Allis.  Consider offering an hour a week to spend time with our students.  Contact the main office (204-1056) for more information.

At Frank Allis Elementary School the success of every child matters!
