Four-year-old Kindergarten at Allis
Allis Elementary School is excited to participate in the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) full-day 4K expansion for the 2021-22 school year! The expansion was part of the operations referendum that the Madison community passed in November 2020.
We are offering 2 full-day classrooms with instruction provided in English. Each classroom will have 18-20 students.
In 4K, students learn through a play-based model that provides the opportunity for skill building and development in several areas including language, vocabulary, early literacy, and math skills, as well as social skill development. The full-day 4K program provides additional time for this skill building as students learn through play while observing, exploring, experimenting, talking, sharing, pretending, and having fun.
The full-day schedule will include breakfast, lunch, exploration time for learning, small/large group instruction, outdoor play, and quiet learning/rest time.
Families in the Allis attendance area can enroll online now. Space in the full-day classrooms is limited; a lottery will be conducted if interest in attendance exceeds the authorized student enrollment. Students enrolled will be expected to attend four full days per week, Tuesday through Friday. Half-day programming is available at Elvehjem Elementary School for Allis families who are interested in half-day 4K programming.
